About Beth Manteuffel - Sustainability consulting and Subcontractor service
Consider me an extension of your team! I offer subcontractor services for short or long-term needs in the green building industry, helping you take projects over the finish line. I've worked closely with building owners, homeowners, architects, contractors, inspectors, and engineers to review solutions and provide project deliverables. I have a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Rhode Island, and a Graduate Certificate in Sustainable Design from the Boston Architectural College.
From the design side, I've worked on mechanical system designs, building envelope detailing, and sustainability consulting projects from concept phase through construction. From the manufacturing side, I've worked in product development and validation using ASTM test methods and industry standards. I'm familiar with industry best practices and building codes, with general knowledge in various building trades through my work experience and past studies. My expertise includes mechanical system design, whole building energy modeling, data analysis, sustainable building strategies, 2D and 3D CAD drafting, building envelope detailing, LEED and green building certification submittals, coordination of trades, construction administration, and research.
I'm a LEED Accredited Professional with specialty in Building Design and Construction, having maintained this credential through 200+ hours of continuing education since 2011. I'm familiar with the WELL Building Standard and earned the WELL AP credential in 2018. My pursuit of these credentials stems from my passion to help develop structures that function sustainably for years to come, while serving as healthy environments where we live and work. I take great interest in health and wellness in my personal life and professional work. I have a passion to explore and protect the natural world, and enjoy implementing ecological restoration practices for land stewardship. I live in northeast CT and serve local and national projects. I volunteer with my town as the chairman of the Conservation Commission, member of the Green Team, and provide support to the Economic Planning and Development Commission.
